Mr. Schweizer is a professor of German, University of Hawai'i
at Manoa, since 1969, with a specialization in the European
influence in the Pacific. He is the author of Turning Tide;
Journal des Mahlers; Ludwig York Choris"; A Poet Among Explorers:
Chamisso in the South Seas, Hawai'i and the German Speaking
Peoples, and His Hawaiian Excellency. He serves as the chair
of The Friends of the Royal Hawaiian Band, and is a board
member of Moanalua Gardens Foundation, and of the 'Ahahui
Ka'iulani. He is also an honorary member of The Royal Order
